Then they are asked: 'I only have five pages to do, can I go ahead, because I'm in a hurry.' Suddenly 95 percent of the respondents responded favourably to the request. Ultimately, the question is formulated as follows: \"I have five pages, can I go for it, because I have to copy.\" 93 percent of those who wait still respond with 'yes'. Although there is no substantive reason whatsoever to grant the request, the response was only fallaciously linguistic. This persuasion technique is known as 'trigger'.
