
Our brains are trained to memorise emotional events more strongly than non- emotional. Errors, mistakes and failures are noted and judged more harshly than positive achievements. Consider, for example, errors in dictation, speeding or submitting your tax return late. Poor results get you a fine, fine is punishment. The Mechanisms of Victory is much less developed system than the penal one. And yet it is: by registering positive accomplishments you support your self-confidence and self- image. The more you identify and recognise your successes, the easier it is going to be to produce more of them.
