How can you arouse interest?

In her biography My life So far (Random House, 2005), American actress and two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda argues that the main reason for her success is not that she was interesting, but that she has always been interested. 

Interest is made up of three main components:

1. Genuine interest
2. Efficient body language
3. Active listening skills

You can develop interest with these ten proven attention techniques:

1. Shut up
2. Nod
3. Look in the eyes
4. Look with your body too
5. Sit upright, lean forward ten degrees.
6. Mirror, imitate the speaker's posture and imitate it as if in reflection.
7. Repeat, rephrase the speaker's words verbatim, say them again and summarize. 'Am I hearing you say that…
8. Don't interrupt, let people finish talking completely.
9. Shut up.
10. Don't finish other people's sentences and wait.
