How can you gain time?

Hoe kan je tijd winnen

Hoe kan je tijd winnen

You don't have time. Older people will tell you that it slips through your fingers and that it slips faster and faster with age. You also remember that the Sunday afternoon when you were a child lasted forever. And then the summer holidays. And now the first autumn leaves are falling in September and before you know it, the May Bells are popping out of the ground. If you don't take the time by his scruff, it will escape.

The three most important time-saving techniques:

Preprogramming.

Try it out for one week. Steal time. Come ten minutes early for an appointment. Sit down already. Have a drink. Go through your preparation or do something useful. The impression you make rested and waiting for your appointment is one of solidity, reliability and attention. No second chance at a first impression. Grab it.

Departure method.

Have you noticed that the last day before your vacation you get ten times as much done as on other days? You manage to pack your suitcase, lock the house, empty your inbox, and do some more tasks that have been waiting for you for months. How do you manage that? Easy. You always get up much earlier that day, you plan and organize and you keep the pace. Do that on other days as well.

Urgency / importance axis

Put everything you need to do in one day on the axis of urgency and importance. Is it urgent? It is important? If it is both, do it NOW (!). If it's neither, you can probably throw it away. Other helpful questions for deciding what to do and when are: What is important today? What should be done today? What is important for the future? If you ask yourself these questions every morning, an action plan will automatically arise and you will still have a lot of time.
