You create time and opportunity by systematically blocking, redirecting and solving the avalanche of activities and assignments that come your way every day. Get rid of them, clean them up, get them done. With: the four d's of decisiveness: do, delegate, defer and dump.
To do. If it takes less than 10 minutes and it is important. Do it. Right away. Then it's gone and over. To Delegate. If it is not really necessary for you to deal with it yourself, pass it on to someone who can do it equally well or even better. Give clear instructions and full responsibility. Keep checking at regular intervals and ask for a report when the task is done. To defer. If the task cannot be performed immediately but is important, keep it, with a timing and an action point that indicates when you are going to do something about it. Devise a system. Put in a folder of current affairs. Look into it every day To dump. If it's not important or urgent, throw it away, immediately. That clears up and makes way for more important things in your house, in your head and in your heart.
