How do you deal with a trick question?

A question can have a negative connotation or be a trick question. It is useful to identify and unmask it. After that it is often not even necessary to answer the question. When you have uncovered the real motive, it is often enough to just go into that. When you get a question that you cannot or do not want to answer, it is sometimes helpful to shift the focus of the answer to something you can comment on. “It makes more sense to talk about…” “The real problem is…” “The crucial question is…” “When you look at the bigger picture, the question becomes…”
