Is it new? Is it happening now? Is it unknown? Is it happening for the first time? Is there a fight? Is there confrontation? Is there violence involved? Is there war? Is it a surprise? Is there anything unusual involved? Something strange or bizarre? Is there drama? Is it a tragedy, a great loss or a disaster? Are there any significant consequences? The greater the impact, the greater the importance. The more people involved, the more interesting. Does it affect our region, our country, the world or the environment? Is it near? The closer the better. The more you can emphasize the us/here effect, the stronger. Is anyone famous involved? Known is better. Fame sells. Is there identification? Can you relate to it yourself? Is it recognizable? Can you compare it to something you know? Is there outrage? Does it go against a sense of fairness or justice? Is it morally wrong? Is it useful? Is it economical? More profitable? Cheaper? Or more practical?
