Make a decision, at the right time, based on the information available and emotion, measured by your instincts and your impulses, and with due conviction. It is one of the most powerful strategies for increasing your personal impact. US Senator Ed Foreman developed his: ten commandments of determination.
Ten commandments of determination.
- You will not worry. Worry is meaningless and perhaps the most unproductive of all human actions.
- You will not be afraid. Fear and doubt make you weak. That is of no use in decisive situations.
- You will be honest and trustworthy.
- You will not take problems to bed with you.
- You will not take over other people's problems.
- You will not relive yesterday.
- You will count your blessings, even the little ones. Many little blessings make one big one.
- You will listen carefully.
- You will not be disappointed with frustration.
- You will not cross any bridges until you have reached them.
